Norristown, Pennsylvania (CNN)The high-profile case accusing Bill Cosby of aggravated indecent assault ended in a mistrial Saturday after a Pennsylvania jury was unable to come to a unanimous decision.

The outcome leaves one of America's most recognized entertainers as well as his accusers without vindication, but prosecutors immediately announced they will retry the case.
About an hour into the sixth day of deliberations, Judge Steven O'Neill declared that the jury of seven men and five women were hopelessly deadlocked in a legal battle closely watched by the public as well as dozens of women who have accused Cosby of similar misconduct in the past.

Only 6 days? Jesus. How many counts where there?

The jury I was on had to decide on one count of rape, and it took us 5 days.

I think this particular case was just focused on one accuser (Andrea Constad).
The jury went to the judge several times and said they were deadlocked, and the judge told them to keep trying.

I'm sure the rape in the case you were on wasn't 20 years old, either.

5 days? That's crazy.

I was on an attempted murder, assault and rape case. It took us 20 mins.

I can't imagine how a non bias jury could ever be found for this
Actually, how DO they handle jury selection in celeb cases?

In this case half the jury was selected because they like jello, and the other half hated it.

Seemed fair.

Guilty or innocent?

Innocent on attempted murder and rape, guilty on assault with special circumstance.

They said it was attmpted murder because there was 3" of water in the tub and they said they were going to drown her. And she reported the rape 2 weeks later and it was a "he said she said". No rape kit or evidence.

I think he did it and I wish he would go to jail for it. But he got a lot of time for the assault.

Same with mine. I'm pretty certain there was a rape, but there was no evidence.

So a few of us were basically holding out on a few scraps of maybe evidence, like, she called a counselling number the day after, and they had the two women she spoke to give testimony.

But, at the end of the day, no real proof. And innocent until PROVEN guilty.

The jury instructions made it really hard to try and get a guilty verdict. Everybody realized it and just made sure that we convicted him WITH the special circumstance. It would have been easier with the attempted murder. But there wasn't enough for that either.

Did the special circumstance allow for a longer sentence?
4 days ago - Monday 6/19/17 - 4:01:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. several years longer. I don't know exactly how much.

He beat the living sh*t out of that poor woman. Slammed her head against the sink.. And I had to watch her cry when they read the sentences. Never going to forget that. I hated being on that jury and dealing with people like him.

I ignored my last jury notice, and I never do that.

I was pre selected for a murder case. It was weird looking at the guy and trying to stay as open mind as possible.
When there was only 30 of us left, being self employed, the judge allowed me to leave.

I'm not surprised by this. Old rape cases are straight up hard to prove.
