¦ The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, publicly confirmed an investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election and whether associates of the president were in contact with Moscow.

¦ Mr. Comey also said the F.B.I. had “no information” to support President Trump’s allegation that Barack Obama wiretapped him.

does anyone have a clue for why the trump administration would continue to defend the claims even though everyone with any knowledge of the situation have called them false?

I can't wrap my mind around it

Because Trump is pathologically incapable of admitting he's ever been wrong or made a mistake?
1 month ago - Monday 3/20/17 - 2:43:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
I mean seriously - rather than admit he was wrong about the wiretapping, he chose to have his Press Secretary insult and offend our closest ally, by claiming their IC was involved.

Hasn't the FBI already investigated the Russia-Trump election thing?

Well clearly it's still ongoing - Comey testified this morning and confirmed that.

Also your article is from October. There have been a few new facts to come out since then.

Trump and his team of c*nts have done a great job in making sure a large number of America's people believe him over anything reported in the media or spoken by 'experts'. It is totally in his interest to double down and wait until they can manufacture the next controversy. People don't like to admit they were duped, this is especially true of the MAGA crowd.

Yep. A lot of his policies (especially the proposed budget cut and Republicare) couldn't f*ck over Trump Country any more if they had been specifically designed to do so.
But those people don't care, because MAGA! Border wall! Keep them damn Muslims out!

Wow, no wonder Spicer tried to downplay Paul Manafort's role in the Trump campaign during the press briefing yesterday.

(For those who don't remember, Manafort was Trump's campaign chairman until he was forced to resign due to Russia stuff)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...

"A Ukrainian lawmaker released new financial documents Tuesday allegedly showing that a former campaign chairman for President Trump laundered payments from the party of a disgraced ex-leader of Ukraine using offshore accounts in Belize and Kyrgyzstan."

I'm just going to leave this here...

Nunes and a lot of others are going to go down.

Schiff today said there is evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia that is "not circumstantial".

He was also preeeettty f*cking pissed at Nunes for today's shenanigans.

Time will tell whether it is Nunes or Shiff that ends up being exposed for the shenanigans...
1 month ago - Wednesday 3/22/17 - 11:45:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not really.
What Nunes did was highly irregular, and deserves to be criticized by everyone, no matter their party, and no matter what the intel actually says.

So, uh.

Flynn offered to testify to congress in exchange for immunity

It's certainly interesting that his lawyer is spinning this as a "partisan witch hunt."
First, I'm not sure how it can be partisan in a BAD way for Flynn, considering the GOP controls congress, and therefore the committees.
Second, a "witch hunt" implies that there was no actual wrongdoing. But requesting immunity in exchange for testimony implies the exact opposite.

Apparently, it's common to ask for immunity when testifying against the big cheeses.
24 days ago - Friday 3/31/17 - 1:10:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
True. But you don't need immunity unless you've done something worth prosecuting. Also, if you're asking for immunity in a situation that could go as high up as the president, you must think you have something really juicy to tell investigators, because they are not too keen on granting that usually.

Point being, if there something there, it can't be a witchhunt. And Flynn obviously thinks there's something there. So his attorney is full of sh*t.

What does Wisconsin have to do with this?

Or it could be that you don't know what exactly they're after, but you want to protect yourself. I love seeing people getting hung out to dry, but I highly doubt that's what's going on here. Thus is an exoneration process, most likely.

Immubity orotects you from counter attack, whether true or false.

You have plenty to fear if you haven't done anything but powerful people want to say you have. If you kbow something it isn't too difficult to make you look guilty by association to destroy your credebility.

Plus if you play your cards right, you night get future immunity.
