I think you're the next to pick CD, so it's up to you
I just bought a bunch of Philip K Dick books, so I'll most likely read one of those next (or suggest it for my next turn in the reading thread)

That book was just released so it will be hard to get from a library.

That's a fair point.

There are 8 people on the waiting list at the library I use...

It really does suck. I just wanted to lure you into reading something you would regret later like you do to me with your posts in the news threads.

I've really enjoyed the ones I've read so far! The subject fascinates me, so I had to buy the book when I saw it
I really love Russian literature and history

I just read If You're Lucky by.. the book is across the room and I'm cozy and warm. I'll get back to you.

Young adult.
It was rather depressing really. Nice to have a main character with a mental illness where the illness wasn't the main story.
But still.
Bit of a downer. And frustrating. One of those, you know what's going to happen right away, but none of the characters do and its an agonizing journey with them to figure it out.

Ah, you should try Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.

Call Me By Your Name.

It's really, really lovely. It's also apparently controversial to like it, but I love the book so far and I'm going to try to finish it by Tuesday so I can go see it at the theater.

Yeah I've heard! I'm super excited to watch it, honestly. I just wish it was more widely released

I'm setting myself a book goal this next year. I barely ready ANYTHING in 2017, and that needs to change.
9 months ago - Saturday 1/6/18 - 3:03:47 PM EST (GMT-5)
If anyone is looking for a goals list, I got this one from a friend (he might have gotten it elsewhere but I don't know):

A book that was published in 2018
" " " was published in your birth year
A classic you haven't read
A book you've started but never finished
" " " put off reading
A banned book
Finish a series you started but didn't finish
Non-fiction book by a comedy writer
A book from the David Bowie Book Club (off this list of 100 http://www.davidbowie.com/news/bowi... )
Historical Fiction
Something completely outside your usual fare
Memoir of a musical legend
A Caldecott Winner
A Newberry Winner
A Printz Winner
A Pulitzer Winner
True Crime
A book made into a movie that you've already seen
A childhood classic you've never read
A book you meant to read in 2017, but d

*but didn't get to.

I'm still making my list, though some of my current reads will fit some of the categories. And we aren't limiting this to just being finished in 2018, but it's a nice goal to have. My issue is going to be the series...the only series I can recall starting and not finishing is Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time, and that's going to take a while.

I finished Golden Son by Pierce Brown last night (so far I’m killing my one book a month goal for the year) and hoooooly sh8t that was a fun ride.

I’m kicking myself for not buying the third when I bought Golden Son last time I got books instead of the book that I did get with it. I need to get my hands on the third like, yesterday.
