This may just get sh*t all over. But I'm really digging the Marvel Now run of Thor: God of Thunder, Deadpool, and I just ordered Indestructable Hulk since I heard it was really good.

Also making my way through all the collections of Walking Dead (just finished #4)

What you reading/recommend?

Alan Moore seems to be well regarded. I've also enjoyed the work of r. crumb and Walt Kelly.

I have quite a few and a poor memory so I just re-read the ones I already got.

I got a soft spot for The Darkness though. I remember finding those comics when I was young and thought "It's such a shame, this doesn't get more love." but then they released the video games recently so I guess it did.

I enjoy :
Powers : a detective unit who works on crimes committed by or to superheroes.
Madman: a schizophrenic superhero that has a hard time knowing what is real and what is not.
Atomic Robot: A robot created by Nicola Tesla to counter enemies technology in the first half of the 20th Century.

Opinions on it are mixed but I enjoyed the hell out of Red Son. If you like Superman or DC in general I'd definitely recommend it.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 4/30/13 - 9:37:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'll have to check out Red Son.

Also, making my way through Brubakers Captain American run. Started with Winters Soldier collection and now I'm going to pick up Red Menace vol. 1.

Aaaaand just order the Guardians Of The Galaxy run that just started.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 5/2/13 - 11:48:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
Gotham Central. It sadly only lasted for forty issues due to lack of readership but it has a cult fanbase. It's worth looking into.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 5/2/13 - 12:01:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'll have to check it out, I don't have a current run of Batman I'm reading, and is really like to, so this could be the one.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 5/2/13 - 12:01:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
Although, I was also looking at the Arkham City lead-up comics and heard good things, anyone read them?
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 5/2/13 - 3:20:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
I haven't read them but i've heard good things too. Gotham Central, if you don't already know, is about the cops and barely has any Batman in it but the villains play a big role. Joker, Mr. Freeze and Two- Face all figure.

Soooooo....

I've read a lot of bad reviews about the Marvel Now Thanos Rising 5 part trade that coming right now. And personally? F*ck their faces, this run is great, The art is great, the story so far ( issue 2 just came out ) is great. And I think it should lead into a greater story line, (really my hope is it leads somewhere in guardians of the galaxy)

Have you read The Infinity Gauntlet? Best thing to come out of marvel ever.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 5/11/13 - 2:26:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
I haven't, honestly I'm kind of new to comics in general, the marvel run of movies got me more interested, and then I got frank Millers Batman year one and Dark Knight returns and kind of started from there.

But I read some really good stuff about infinity gauntlet.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 5/13/13 - 6:45:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
Infinity Gauntlet is amazing. Anything by Jim Starlin is worthwhile. He did a Batman called A Death in the Family thats quite revered too. And please please please read some Alan Moore.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 5/13/13 - 5:15:51 PM EST (GMT-5)
I am going to pick up V for Vendetta, it seems like a good starting point for me to get into Moore.

And I'm looking into getting the Infinity Gauntlet trade(s?) Seeing whats out there on Amazon.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 5/13/13 - 5:39:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
v for vendetta has really bad art and is so dry and wordy
watchmen is a much better place to get into moore, or league of extraordinary gentlemen
or in hell which is also quite dry and the art is pretty bleak (but good imo) but in general it's another level of awesome
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 5/13/13 - 6:32:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
There's nothing wrong with V For Vendetta. It's a brutal piece written during the Thatcher regime in the UK. It's a great place to begin but if you're not convinced after that, try my favourite The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Watchmen is also fantastic.
As for The Infinity Gauntlet, the whole thing comes in one volume.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 5/14/13 - 12:24:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
I agree that V and Watchmen suffer from bad art. The League has a more interesting approach. Strangely, it was the worse movie adaptation of Moore.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 5/15/13 - 5:12:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
League might be more my speed, I looked through it briefly at Barnes a little while ago and appreciated the art more than Watchmen.

I'm sidetracked anyway, I started keeping up with the Marvel NOW Iron man Secret Origins of Tony Stark issues, and Age of Ultron. So I'm reading like a billion things.
3 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 5/18/13 - 1:02:16 AM EST (GMT-5)
I am missing issue three of Thor: God of Thunder and its driving me nuts because it is the best comic I've read so far. The art and story both come together in a comic book orgy of awesome. And I need number three

I have a few new series on the go right now.

Uber - the last days of WW2 but the nazis unleash soldiers with super powers.

Ten Grand - a former hitman bought back to life. Every time he suffers a righteous death he gets to spend 5 minutes with his dead fiancé.

Suicide Risk - a cop gives himself super powers to fight supes who nearly killed his partner.

Thief of Thieves - a retired thief gets dragged into a new heist to stop drug barons killing his kid.

Oh and the wake. Only one issue released so far but it's pretty interesting.
3 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 6/8/13 - 2:25:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
Ten Grand sounds interesting.

Just finished LoEG 1910. Very good.
3 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 6/8/13 - 4:31:39 AM EST (GMT-5)
The end of League 2009 is excellent.

I'm addicted to Comixology. My only problem is you can't really own the books on your hd. (Unless There is a way I am unaware of)
